Arezzo
City of ancient origins. The center of Arezzo preserves splendid monuments, churches, palaces and museums. The Basilica of San Francesco is perhaps the most famous church in the city. Giostra del Saracino
The Giostra del Saracino is an important and famous medieval event that place in the city of Arezzo, in Piazza Grande, twim a year: the thiird Saturday of June and the first Sunday of September. The Giostra is an ancient Knightly competition, which has its origins in the Middle Ages and consists of hitting a target, placed on the shield of Buratto, representing a Saracen warrior, with a lance at the end of a fast race on horseback.
Antique fair
The Arezzo Antique Fair is the oldest on the national territory. Since 1968 continuously, every first Sunday of the month and previous Saturday, in Piazza Grande and in the streets of the historic city center, the Fair entertains its visitors with a great variety of objects that make up the historical heritage of our identity, giving to fans and employees at work the pleassure of the “trouvaille”, or the discovery and research og the rare or curious piece.
Cortona
The powerful Etruscan walls encicle Cortona, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy! To find out more about this majestic ancient civilization, visit also the e xtraordinary tomb called “Melons” for their domed shape and the famous Etruscan Museum MAEC.
